Supernatural Connection

Supernatural Connection

What a Sunday we had at Revival Life Church!

We celebrated our church anniversary in the presence of God was tangible in the room.

Pastor Carl started a new message series entitled Supernatural Connection about the body of Christ. Teaching from Ephesians 4, Pastor Carl detailed the three ways Christ’s body is represented in the Scripture and why it’s important to us. The first way was the physical body of Jesus, who is fully God and fully man.

Early in the Christian church heresies came about that either said Jesus had nobody, or he had a body but he was not God. The first ecumenical Council rightly declared that Jesus was fully human and yet fully God. He was tempted in every way just like we are as it says in Hebrews chapter 4.

Jesus is now physically in heaven ministering before the throne of God interceding for us. This is important because of Jesus did not come in the flesh, then he could not carry our sin on the cross in his body. He could not have died in our place and he could not of been resurrected from the dead conquering death on our behalf.

The second way we see the body of Christ in Scriptures is in the elements of communion. All three synoptic Gospels as well as Paul detail that Christ is present when we receive communion. The third way that we receive the body in Scripture is the community of Christian believers.

Jesus left a supernatural community on the earth, empowered by Holy Spirit to meet the needs of the world. In Ephesians 4 we see that Christ sent people to mature in their Christian faith so they can fully be the body of Christ. This is what God does.

There is a supernatural love we can walk in so that we can disciple those who need to come out of the world and be conformed to the image of Christ.

This week as you meditate on this message consider the following:

Do you see that you are a vital part of the body of Christ?

What gifts do you have that the body of Christ desperately needs?

How can you be one of those people God sent to reach people to complete the body?
