Prophets have a hard life, not because God has forsaken them but because they have to live a life of victory. God keeps giving them new areas of warfare so they can learn new aspects of victory. Elijah kept getting side missions to gain skills to and experience so he could win the ultimate battle. He didn’t get distracted from the side missions, he kept his eyes on making God real to the people under Baal’s curse.
